If you have always dreamed of escaping to Tuscany, this very special tour will immerse you in the heart and soul of Tuscan life. We have selected the jewels in the crown of this region for you to experience, driving you through the breath-taking Tuscan scenery of rolling hills, vineyards and cypress trees in comfortable air-conditioned cars.

We explore several delightful villages and towns in the region with our wonderful and knowledgeable art-historian guides Gaia, Marco and Silvia. Some places, like Florence and Siena, are extremely well-known, while others are off the usual tourist track. We visit castles, wineries, sample local meats and cheeses, spend an afternoon at a thermal spa, and enjoy the peace and quiet of La Celle monastery, founded in the 13th century by St. Francis of Assisi. You will have plenty of opportunity to shop for souvenirs in the bustling leather market in Florence. Join Liz and Claire for an unforgettable tour of Tuscany! In the villa you have the option of daily yoga with Liz.

On the itinerary:

  • Siena

  • Monteriggioni

  • San Gimignano

  • Cortona

  • Le Celle Hermitage (Monastery)

  • Rapolano thermal baths

  • Montalcino and Montepulciano

  • Castello di Broglio (Chianti winery)

  • Florence: Uffizi and Il Duomo

We employ a charming local chef to teach pasta making classes and art-historian guides to lead us on several excursions.

Claire and Liz have created the perfect Tuscan vacation. We start with a week in a sumptuous villa, with a pool, set amid the rolling Tuscan countryside outside Siena. Once at the villa we will visit Siena with our guide Silvia, Cortona and St Francis's monastery with our guide Marco, go wine tasting in the heart of Chianti country at Barone Ricasoli's castle Broglio, spend half a day at the Rapolano thermal baths and spa, as well as seeing the charming medieval walled towns of Monteriggioni and San Gimignano.

The villa has a pool, gardens, and wifi. You will have the chance to participate in a cooking class taught by a local chef and then we will eat the feast you have helped to prepare. Liz offers (optional) yoga on the lawn each morning before breakfast. Every evening at the villa we dine al fresco, watching the beautiful Tuscan sunsets, and linger to drink wine and enjoy conversation under the stars.

On any given day you can opt to stay back and enjoy the villa, the grounds and the pool.  We'll savor the culinary delights of traditional Italian trattorias, enjoy the local wines, and of course visit the street vendors scooping the most delicious gelato.

After a week in the villa, you have the option of continuing on to Florence for an additional two nights in a 4-star hotel. In the morning we leave the villa and take the train from Siena to Florence.

Later that day we will visit the famous Florence Leather Market and have a tour of the Duomo. After dinner we will walk to to the Piazalle Michelangelo to view the city from the top of the hill.

On our last day, we will meet our local guide Gaia for a tour of the Uffizi Gallery. Gaia has an amazing gift to make the treasures of Florence come alive with her stories and lively discussions of the intrigue and plots of the great families of Tuscany. and have our farewell dinner in a restaurant that is popular with the locals.

Please join us on the vacation of a lifetime in Tuscany!

Please note: There is a fair amount of walking on our tours, sometimes on steep village streets and uneven ground, so you do need a certain level of fitness to be comfortable. If you are uncertain whether one of our tours is right for you, please contact us - we are happy to discuss your needs.
